How I Track Which AI Content Actually Makes Money

Heads up: some links below are affiliate links. If you buy through one, Web Guy Nick LLC may earn a commission at no extra cost to you.

AI makes publishing cheap. That is the trap. When content costs nothing to produce, the temptation is to spray and pray, and then you have no idea which posts pay the bills. Here is the simple loop I use instead.

Every link is trackable

Every affiliate and referral link on my sites goes through a branded short link, so I can see clicks per link, per post, per month in one screen. No more guessing which article drove the signup. This one habit is the difference between an affiliate hobby and affiliate income.

Analytics where you will look

MonsterInsights puts traffic, top posts, and outbound click data inside the WordPress dashboard. The best analytics setup is the one you check weekly, and I check mine because it is in the same place I already work.

The monthly review

Once a month I rank posts by outbound clicks, not pageviews. A post with 200 visits and 40 clicks beats one with 2,000 visits and 5. The high-intent winners get updated, internally linked, and cloned into new angles. The losers teach me what not to write again.

Close the loop

Measurement turns AI content from a slot machine into a system: publish, measure, prune, repeat. The compounding starts around month three.

I break down the exact stack on my recommendations page, and if you want this measurement loop installed on your site, head to webguynick.com.
