Running an AI Business From Anywhere: My Remote Stack

Heads up: some links below are affiliate links. If you buy through one, Web Guy Nick LLC may earn a commission at no extra cost to you.

My whole business fits in a backpack: a laptop, a phone, and the right subscriptions. Client sites do not care where I am when I fix them. If you are building toward the same freedom, three pieces of infrastructure matter more than everything else.

Internet that follows you

Starlink ended the era of planning trips around Wi-Fi. Campground, desert, family cabin with no cell service: I have pushed site launches from all three. If your income depends on being online, redundant internet is insurance, not luxury.

A connection you can trust

Every login to a client server from a network I do not control goes through NordVPN. One compromised session could cost me a client relationship worth thousands. Cheap protection against an expensive problem.

Phone service without the bloat

Mint Mobile covers calls and hotspot backup at a fraction of what the big carriers charge. When Starlink is overkill, tethering to Mint has saved more than one deadline.

The real requirement

Gear is the easy part. The hard part is systematizing your work so it does not need you hovering over it, which is most of what I write about here at Throlson Labs.

Building a location-independent web business? I have made most of the mistakes already, learn from them at webguynick.com.
